2024 Datathon

About 2024 DIRISA Datathon

The 2024 challenge was held at The Boardwalk and Gqeberha from 30 November to 4 December 2024. 10x teams participated n the challenge from various institutions from South Africa.

The participants had to complete 3x challenges:

Challenge 1: A South African Temperature Data Analysis and Modelling Challenge. This challenge is designed for data enthusiasts, students, and MATLAB users passionate about understanding climate trends. Throughout this challenge, the participants will work with real-world South African temperature data to draw insights that will empower them to understand local climate trends.

Challenge 2: In this challenge the students were tasked with working with health data provided by Altron to develop various solutions within the health domain.

Challenge 3: The students were tasked with creating a research poster based on challenge 2.
